Hi, my name is Andy Behlen.  Welcome to sanstorture.org.  On this site, you will find news and opinion regarding the use of torture by governments around the world.  My goal in this project is to provide information that is not readily availible through traditional media outlets like cable news.

 Torture is sick.  It is plain disgusting.  And governments around the world engage in it every day.  Yes, even my government here in the USA.  It is never acceptible, regardless of what some action movie or TV drama may lead you to think.  But you already know this because you are here.

There is another goal that I have in mind with this project.  It seems that libertarians like myself ought to reach out to the best of the right and the left.  Sure, I have tons to disagree with liberals and conservatives about.  But torture ought to be something that we can all be against.  We must stamp-out torture before we can build a free society, regardless of what that free society looks like.

It is my hope that the information, news, opinion, reasearch, etc. provided here may strengthen your discourse and provide clarity of thought the next time one of those police-state bullies says, "Oh yeah? Well I think we ought-ta just..."
